Supply The Ride with The Skatepark Project

The Gumball 3000 Foundation continued its partnership with Tony Hawk’s organization, The Skatepark Project, to support Supply the Ride - a programme designed to help remove financial barriers to outdoor recreation by providing essential equipment and skate access opportunities to young people in underserved communities. As part of the Gumball family, acclaimed contemporary artists Slawn and Opake contributed their highly distinctive, internationally recognised creative practices to the initiative, designing bespoke custom skateboard decks that were gifted to young people in these communities during the rally.

Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island

The Foundation was proud to support the local skate community in Fernandina Beach, working alongside The Skatepark Project and Friends of Fernandina Skatepark to help create greater opportunities for underserved youth.

Fernandina Beach is known for its natural beauty, outdoor culture, and strong sense of community, but many local families have faced economic barriers that limit access to organised sports and recreational programmes. As the region has continued to grow, the need for inclusive, accessible youth spaces has become increasingly important - especially for young people who may not have the resources for fee-based activities.

At the heart of this initiative was the Fernandina Beach Skatepark, a genuine hub for creativity, connection, and progression within the skate community. The park is home to rising U.S. skateboarding prodigy Poe Pinson and the respected Waldo family, reflecting the deep grassroots culture and talent that exists within this coastal town.

Through this collaboration, the Foundation helped preserve and grow that culture by supporting a safe, welcoming environment where young people could show up freely, stay active, build confidence, and feel a sense of belonging, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Austin, Texas

Austin’s skate scene is globally recognised for its creativity, authenticity, and deep community roots. Like many growing cities, however, access to equipment, organised programming, and recreational opportunities has not been equal for all.

Working with No-Comply - a cornerstone of Austin skate culture - the Foundation delivered a youth-focused event and skate clinic, creating meaningful opportunities for young people to engage with skateboarding while fostering confidence, connection, and long-term participation in the local skate community.

The Fernandina Skatepark project was showcased during the Gumball arrivals on Friday, June 5th, with the Austin activation highlighted on Sunday, June 7th.
